The Jolion is Haval’s new C-class segment offering, powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine developing 105Kw and 210NM of torque. Power is delivered through the front wheels either via a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch auto gearbox.
The Jolion has a spacious cabin and 337 liters of boot space, with the 64/40 split rear seats folded flat this becomes a cavernous 1113 liters. The wheelbase on the Jolion is 2,7m allowing for a reasonable amount of leg and knee room.
The Jolion is a stunning vehicle with beautiful lines indicative of the influence of design director, Phil Simmons who has a proven track record with major luxury brands. It has tidy proportions with interesting details such as LED headlights featuring split design daytime running lights. The taillights have a distinctive C-shape LED design as well. The bold chrome grille and smart alloy wheels finish the vehicle beautifully.
The interior is nicely executed with Haval using a minimalist approach keeping switchgear and buttons to a minimum. The floating centre console on the auto versions is less cluttered with only the electronic park brake and new rotary gear selector. The Super Luxury model also features a wireless charge pad.
There are five models to choose from including the City and Luxury Manual version and the 7-speed DCT auto featuring in the Premium, Luxury and Super Luxury models.
The Flagship Super Luxury pulls out all the stops with features like a 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen system, customizable digital instrument cluster and a heads-up display. It also has numerous active safety features including traffic sign recognition, auto emergency braking for pedestrians and cyclists, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot assist, and lane departure warning, as well as lane hold assist. It also has 6 airbags for added safety.
The New Jolion range starts from R299 900 and comes with a 5yr/60 000 km service plan as well as a 5yr/ 100 000km warranty. As with all Haval products it also has 5yr/unlimited roadside assistance.
