After the long-anticipated wait, we have finally opened our doors as CMH Haval Little Falls. We have now joined this fantastic brand with its brilliant offering and value for money range of vehicles. The process was a gruelling three months of preparations between the OEM (head office) and the franchise to ensure that our bid to be allocated rights was successful.

With this new development we were able to diversify our offering between passenger and commercial vehicles with the addition of Havel’s parent company Great Wall Motors. The offering on the commercial and industrial under the GWM banner are the enigmatic steed single cab and double cab offerings which start at R117 490 for the base model single-cab Steed 5 Workhorse facelift, this is a 2.0 litre bakkie with sufficient loading capacity and dimensions which make it the go-to vehicle in any fleet setup.

Also available are the Steed 5 2.2 MPi workhorse single cab, Steed 5E 2.4 SX double cab and the Steed 5E 2.4 Xscape Double cab. These vehicles are incredible as part of a growing fleet option or small business looking forward to stretching their wallets and optimising budget on vehicle spend both in driveability and maintenance. With the launch of Haval in the Little Falls suburb of Roodepoort our offering ranges from the GWM M4 and Haval H1 crossover vehicles. With the diminutive size of the exterior it has a surprisingly spacious interior and an amazing 5 speed manual transmission which makes it a fantastic daily driver for anybody looking to downsize or first-time buyers. With a 1.5 l VVT engine it is surely responsive in its shifting timing and ratios to ensure you don’t get dreadful lag when changing gears.

On offer is the magnificent and fast selling Haval H2 compact SUV which is available in the H2 1.5t Luxury auto and the H2 1.5T City auto in a range of single- and two-tone options, both inside and out. Standard on all Haval models, the H2 wears a broad U-shaped grille, flanked by LED- framed headlights, a pair of deep fog-light bezels and a second set of LED lamps. Acceleration of the NEV Strategy — Joint Venture Contract Signed by GWM and BMW

[Beijing/Berlin July 10, 2018] Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and German Chancellor Angela Merkel presided over the fifth round of Chinese-German inter-governmental consultation in Berlin. Witnessed by Chinese and German government officials, the joint venture contract is entered into between Great Wall Motor Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as GWM) and BMW Holding B.V. (hereinafter referred to as BMW).

According to the Contract, the joint venture with 50 % of the shares held by GWM and BMW respectively is named: Spotlight Automotive Ltd., with a registered capital of RMB 5.1 Billion (approx.R10.2 Billion). The registered address is in Zhangjiagang, in the Jiangsu Province. The Board of Directors consists of six members, in which the chairman is appointed by GWM and the Vice Chairman by BMW, serving a total of four years. The JV has planned an international advanced vehicle plant with an annual standard capacity of 160,000 vehicles. This is the first BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) joint venture project for the BMW Group worldwide and the bridgehead for the GWM New Energy Vehicles (NEV) to enter the global market.

Based on multi-round communication and mutual benefits, this commercial cooperation between GWM and BMW complies with the national industry policy trend, and meets the social demands of new energy vehicles featuring energy conservation, environmental protection and high efficiency. Focusing on new energy vehicle field, the JV will integrate technology, resources and management advantages of both parties to develop a new generation of BEV.

As one of ten key national development fields in China, “Energy-saving and new energy vehicles” aims at promoting the travel modes centered on low carbon, energy conservation and environmental protection. The cooperation between GWM and BMW effectively responds to the optimization and upgrade of the new energy industry in China.

Great Wall Motor has layouts in the core areas of new energy vehicles, such as motors, electric controls, and power batteries. It has built batteries, mechanism analysis, PACK, BMS trial laboratories, and battery trial workshops, test centers, and analysis centers. In addition, Great Wall Motor has established a new energy technology R&D center in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and Lower Austria, Austria, using state-of-the-art talent resources to collaborate with domestic development of advanced technologies.

The cooperation of Great Wall and BMW is a new example of open cooperation between China’s auto industry and a trend of optimizing and integrating resources around the world. It is conducive to integrating each other’s expertise and deepening the broader international market.
