The Haval H9 is the big brother of the Haval range and probably one of the most underrated 4WD seven-seater SUVs on the South African market.
The Haval H9 commands attention with its muscular lines running through the sides of the vehicle to promote the sporty feeling, yet it remains easy on the eye.
The external features of the Haval H9 include a panoramic sunroof, 18” aluminum alloys, roof rails, functional fixed side steps and a stainless-steel rear bumper protector.
The internal features include an electronic 8-way adjustable driver seat with memory and a 4-way adjustable front passenger seat, which also includes massage functions with ventilation and plenty of leg support for absolute comfort. The second row can be manually adjusted; however, the third row is controlled electronically. The multi-zone automatic air conditioning caters for all 3 rows.
The Infotainment System is taken care of by Infinity sound with an 8” TFT colour LCD touchscreen and 10 speakers creating true surround sound. The Infotainment System has an independent amplifier and boasts automatic adjustable volume with the vehicle speed.
Front double-wishbone suspension and multi-link rear suspension mated to a comfortable chassis gives the vehicle excellent off-road ability. It also boasts hydraulic power steering. Power is delivered via a ZF 8-speed Automatic Integrated Transmission coupled to a BorgWarner double-speed Torque on Demand transfer case with Eton limited-slip differential lock.
The Haval H9 has an efficient 2.0L double-channel turbocharging petrol engine, producing 180kW of power and 350Nm of torque, guaranteeing performance.
The driver can select one of 6 driving mode options via the multi-functional display knob on the center console. The options are as follows: 4L, Auto, Mud, Sand, Sport and Snow mode.
This vehicle enjoys huge popularity in Australia with one journalist calling it “a machine rugged enough to survive the Australian outback” — there is no reason than for it not to survive the South African Bushveld.
